Massey Marathon & Spanish River Half

The Massey Marathon was this past Sunday and conditions couldn't have been better, cool temperatures and sunny. Not a lot of Representatives from Barrie though, Clarence Wang was the top runner from Barrie with a 3:48 in the Marathon followed by Sylive Phillips with a time of 4:33. Neil Phillips ran in place of Oliver Owen in the Half and had a time of 1:49. Congratulations to all. Pictures to come.

  1. Mosquitoes, nerves and a two hour sleep greeted me for the 6 am start time. Not what I had envisioned for my first Friendly Massey Marathon adventure; However ideal weather conditions and a fabulous course eased my earlier trepidations. The fan's and volunteer's support aided my 42.2 km journey to the finish line. Though I did not attain my expected finishing time, I did take away many positives for my next marathon.
A veritable marathon for all runners to put on their must do marathoning list.

  2. Friendly, indeed. Massey puts on a small but good show. Flat and easy to navigate...even a few dogs along the way to help you out! Great race. Congratulations to all this year's finishers.
