The Run For One Planet

From an e-mail we recieved this past week:

I am reaching out to your running group in the hopes that you would like to be a small part of an amazing journey.

Matt Hill and Stephanie Tait left Vancouver, BC on May 4th that started an 18,000 km journey that will take them around North America. The Run For One Planet is a carbon neutral year-long run around the continent to inspire environmental action. The goal to run one marathon a day, to inspire 1 million environmental actions for the earth, and to raise 1 million dollars for the Run For One Planet Foundation. To do this, they will be running 18,000 km into communities, towns, and cities where they will run, speak, and inspire people to take simple daily actions, individually and corporately, to make a positive difference for the health of our planet.

With that in mind, Matt and Stephanie are looking to join up with running groups along the way. They will be arriving in Barrie soon, and are looking to get out for a run either on July 29th. So if the Barrie Road Runners can see an opportunity to get a run together, Matt and Stephanie would be more than happy to come along.

I thank you for taking the time to read this and look forward to hopefully a positive response that will lead to a wonderful run later this week.

we hope to have more information as to what time they plan on being in Barrie soon.
